			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-58" title="doyoung3" src="http://doyoungpark.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/doyoung32.jpg?w=137&#038;h=169" alt="doyoung3" width="137" height="169" />Doyoung Park is a lecturer of Osaka Gakuin University in Japan teaching Japanese history, Japanese philosophy, Korean history, and Korean language.</p>
<p>He is a doctoral candidate of the Department of History at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in USA. He specializes in the intellectual history of early modern Japan, and his work has focused on the relationship between Neo-Confucianism and Japanese politics. Doyoung is interested in the impact of philosophy on society in socio-political history context. He is conducting the research for his dissertation on the Neo-Confucian converts from Zen in the early Tokugawa period such as Fujiwara Seika and Hayashi Razan. At the beginning of his academic career, Doyoung was trained as a Chinese philosopher and then he changed his way to be a historian as he arrived at the States. Doyoung joined the doctoral program of history at the University of Illinois in 2004 and became a doctoral candidate in 2007. He was affiliated to the Graduate School for Law and Politics of the University of Tokyo as a Japan Foundation fellow 2007-2008. He joined Osaka Gakuin University as a full-time faculty member on April 1st 2011.</p>
